Annette comes from a family of needlewomen, although it was her father who taught her to knit and sew. She became interested in Patchwork and Quilting in 1992 and completed her City & Guilds course in 1994. Since then she has won many local, national, and international awards. She teaches internationally and several pieces of her work have been selected for exhibitions world wide, including Europe, Japan, and the USA.
Although she trained as a theatre nurse Annette now works exclusively in textile art. She has taught City & Guilds courses in Patchwork and Quilting (since 1999) and Machine Embroidery (since 2012) in addition to her freelance work. She has written numerous articles for magazines including Quilting Arts and published several books including Creative Fabric Techniques, the successful CD book Glitzy quilts, Applique and Beyond, written with Bailey Curtis, and Sticks and Stones in 2013 to accompany her solo gallery at the International Festival of Quilts.
She is a qualified Quilt Judge and teacher Cert Ed) and is a tutor on the prestigious Quilt Judging course for the Quilters Guild. Annette was President of The Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles from 2001-2003 and is an Honorary member.
