A Visit to Welney Wetland, 23rd February 2011
Each winter up to 9,000 Whooper and Bewick’s swans make their way from Iceland and Arctic Russia to spend the winter on the Ouse Washes at Welney. They are fed daily by a warden and visitors can view a spectacular sight from the observatory, as literally hundreds of Wild Swans are drawn in to feed and can be seen up close. This event, was organised by the Leisure Activities Committee.
