Another literary tea party? Indeed, but this one is rather different because this time we have a special guest speaker. Pamela Holmes, author of “The Huntingfield Paintress” will be with us at the Riverside Centre, Stratford St Andrew, on Monday 19th October.
Many of you, we are sure, will know that this – her first novel – tells the story of 19th century rector’s wife Mildred Holland, responsible for the amazing decorated ceiling in nearby Huntingfield Church, and many of you may well have actually read the book. It will be fascinating to hear what Pamela has to tell us about this extraordinary woman and how she achieved such a striking display.
This is not Pamela’s only book. Her latest, ”Wyld Dreamers”, is a tale of how the things we do when young can come back to haunt us in later years and she is also an award-winning short story writer. She comes as a highly recommended speaker.
As usual, there will be plenty of time to chat over a delicious tea. A wide selection of sandwiches, savouries and cakes will be served. Regulars at our tea parties will know what to expect! Please let us know of any special dietary requirements when booking.
