Paddle Steamer "Waverley"

Would you like the opportunity of a voyage on the last sea-going paddle steamer in the world ?
The ‘SS Waverley’ was built in 1946 and is based on the Clyde, but hopes to be repeating its previously annual journey south again this year, offering day-trips between East Suffolk and London in the autumn. Boarding would probably be at Harwich, although, if there were sufficient numbers , we could possibly negotiate at least one additional pick-up point. The day would include a coach-service return from London.
At the moment, this is simply a tentative enquiry to see how many members would be interested in taking such a trip as we would need to make a block booking. The cost would probably be about £90, including a 25% deposit, but well worth it for such a unique experience. (This would, of course be refundable should the trip be unable to go ahead.)
If you wish to register an interest, please contact Gill Denny – preferably by e-mail (gill@sefwi.org.uk) or on 01473 251632 as soon as possible.
