We are organising this visit in the hope that the Covid 19 Rules will have been relaxed to allow us to travel safely. The Hall is an elegant 18th Century Palladian style house, the Marble Entrance Hall is spectacular and leads to magnificent State Rooms, displaying superb collections of statues, paintings, furniture and tapestries. It is one of ten Treasure Houses in England.
The Coach will pick up from various points depending on those attending, with arrival planned at around 11.30am. We will meet in the Marble Hall at midday, for a short talk on some of the paintings and artwork in the Hall. After this you will be free to take a self-guided tour of the Hall, and the grounds. There is a lake and walled garden, where you can have a leisurely walk and either enjoy your own picnic or you could visit the café.
Unfortunately there is no use of a shuttle buggy service to take you around the grounds, but we may be able to use our coach to transport those needing assistance to visit the walled garden, which is a short walk away from the Hall.
We plan to leave the Hall at 4pm.
