There was a full house for the Indian Day, held to raise money for our ACWW project helping the head fish sellers of Tamil Nadu. Members heard from Tish Collins, Operations Manager at ACWW HQ in London, and from May Kidd, past ACWW World President, about the organisation and its work. After a splendididly varied curry lunch, enjoyed even by those who didn’t think they liked curry, Kirsty Wilmot told us about her work as a volunteer in India. Jaymini Bedia followed with a demonstration of Indian dancing and then had members joining in. After this she showed members how a sari was put on and six brave volunteers and their “dressers” took up the challenge. May Kidd rounded off the day by leading the singing of an ACWW anthem.
