Women’s Voices Women’s Votes is an amazing group of women’s organisations from Suffolk, which is organising a festival to celebrate 100 years since the first British women to gain the vote and the history of that struggle.
The festival is on the 6th of October at the University of Suffolk, is being designed and delivered by women for women. It aims to reach out to all parts of the community to recognise the achievements of women in the last 100 years, to explore how far women still have to go to be equal and, very importantly, to encourage women and young people to become more involved in civic life.
The festival day will feature performance poetry, a specially commissioned play, film, craftivism, music, inspirational talks, empowerment workshops, mentoring, exhibitions, voting and much more.

There is also a short story competition – more information here.
