As part of our Centenary Celebrations, SEFWI are holding a writing competition. This involves writing a letter to Adelaide Hoodless, a Canadian farmer’s wife who devised the idea of getting women to meet together regularly, in order to widen their knowledge and share their interests. We have so much to thank Adelaide for, don’t you agree?
Details of the competition have been sent to all WI Secretaries. There is a list of requirements with which each entry must comply, so please read these carefully when you receive them. The good thing is, you can team up with your friends or work alone, whichever is your preference. Each WI may submit only one entry.
There’s plenty of information to help you research for your letter both on the NFWI website and in a selection of books in the Federation office should you need it. The deadline date is 30th November 2018 and entry is FREE. The winning entry will be displayed at the 2019 Federation Meeting and published in SEFWI News. We can’t wait to see what you come up with – the only limit is your imagination!
