To mark World Ocean Day on June 8th and with a nod to our ‘End Plastic Soup’ campaign, the Creative Craft and Cookery committee, in partnership with Public Affairs, are launching a competition entitled ‘Water’.
All you need is materials of your choice, and a little imagination! We want you to make a collage, a3 size, depicting water, using any medium you want – fabric, paper, paint, inks, recycled items… even dried pasta! Please submit one entry per WI and up to 3 members can contribute their creativity if you wish. (Do please remember to follow government covid guidelines if this is a joint project.) Once completed, please send a photograph, by post or email, of your finished work of art to the office in Orford Street by June 18th, where the judging will take place by members of the Public Affairs committee.
Your artwork will be displayed at the WI Summer Showcase in Ipswich, should it go ahead this year. There will be an award for the winning WI. So …. get out your glue, thread a needle and find your paint brush. I very much look forward to seeing all the entries.
