“It’s Rocket Science” is an interactive STEM and Astronomy centre in Claydon, Suffolk. It’s open to visitors at weekends and school holidays and during term-time hosts school groups for hands-on experiments.
We have booked a session there on Wednesday 12th of July at 2pm for you to have a go. We will have an hour’s workshop and do at least three simple and fun experiments – Traffic Light in a Test Tube, floating flowers and tornado in a jar and maybe more if there is time. All of these use ingredients that can be found at home so when you return you will be able to repeat them to impress younger members of the family.
After the workshop we will move on to the cafe for hot drinks and cake which is included in the cost. You will then have time to look around the centre.
The cost of £12 includes all materials and refreshments.

- Photographs may be taken at Federation events and used in SEFWI News, on social media or on our website. Please inform the organiser if you do not wish to appear in these publications.
- All events are suitable for wheelchair access unless stated otherwise.
- Events are for members only unless stated otherwise.
- Bookings can be made via this SEFWI Website or by completing and returning the booking page from SEFWI News.
- Telephone bookings can be taken, but must be followed up with email or booking form confirmation.
- Once a booking is accepted, full payment must be made, either by BACS (preferred) or by sending a cheque. Card payments can be taken over the phone so long as you have card authorisation via your smart phone.
- Should you have to cancel your booking, a refund will only be given if your place is taken by another member.
- Should SEFWI have to cancel an event for which you are booked, a full refund will be made.
