Early Birds WI was formed in October 2023.
We are a friendly lively group who enjoy each other’s company, currently we have 38
members.
As well as our monthly meetings, members meet at The Osier Café in the Church, every
Wednesday 10.00am to 11.00am.
We also have a Lunch Club that meets every other month, at various restaurants around
Stowmarket.
Some of the group go on outings during the year, using the local coach company or Train.
We take part in the Stowmarket Christmas Tree Festival.
New Members and Visitors are very welcome to come along, first visit is free.

15th Jan Members Showcase – Members will be putting on a show of their Crafts and Hobbies for all members and visitors to enjoy – Resolutions – Time to choose this Years Resolution.

18th Mar Easter Flower Arrangement workshop – Making an Easter themed flower arrangement.

15th Apr Wiltshire Farm Foods – Cooking demonstration and product tasting.

20th May Gerry Crease – History of the River Gipping – Resolutions – Voting on this year resolution.

17th Jun   Louise Carr – Talking about her Bees. She will also be making Lip balm using Beeswax.

15th Jul East Coast Truckers Childrens Charity – Jackie Noy and Colleagues talking about this well-established charity.

16th Dec Christmas Social – Christmas themed nibbles, Fun and Games, to get us in the Christmas mood

20th Jan Resolutions, followed by a Quiz to test your local Knowledge

17th Mar Joseph Blackmore – We welcome back Joe from G Tydeman Jewellers to talk about the beauty of Rubies and Sapphires

14th Apr Jane Sago – With Jane’s guidance, we will be decorating a cupcake for Easter

19th May Diane Heasley – Diane will be making a floral door wreath for Summer, and teaching us how to make a simple bow. Everyone, will have chance to win the wreath in a free raffle

16th Jun Penny Brown – The work of the Samaritans. Donations of items to sell in the Ipswich shop are very welcome.

21st Jul Steph Mackentyre – My life behind a mic. An amusing look behind the scenes at local radio stations.

20th Oct Mike Farley – Being Henry VIII – well known Henry the VIII impersonator Mike will be entertaining us at our 12th Birthday celebrations. Followed by a members buffet lunch. Meeting finishes at 1.15

17th Nov Election of Officers & AM Business – Time to choose the Committee for 2026. The Committee will be providing the entertainment.

15th Dec Christmas Social – The What No Cake Ukulele band will be entertaining us with Songs, Poems and Jokes.  Christmas themed nibbles will be provided.
